Established in 2008, Karen Aston Design is a Sydney based design practice with extensive experience in residential and commercial projects. Each project is a true collaboration, with the client’s needs, tastes, and budget firmly in mind, creating beautiful spaces that feel refreshingly balanced and harmonious.

Karen's style sensibility is heavily influenced by her love of travel and years spent living in Europe and the United States. She is passionate about international architecture and design, and draws on this inspiration to create unique, stylish interiors with individual flair and a hint of the unexpected. Karen is a master of colour and her love of textiles adds nuance and personality to every space. Her signature is a classic, sophisticated style with a contemporary, urban edge. 

Karen’s work in the residential sector has been extensive, from small, single room makeovers to large scale renovations and new builds. All commercial design work is approached with an understanding of the market requirements for each business and their desired outcomes. Karen’s commercial work is keenly focused on the market requirements for each business and their premises. Colour schemes and fit outs are developed after careful analysis of market trends, competitors and target market profiles.  Her commercial portfolio includes colour design and fit outs for cafes, exterior and interior colour schemes for large business parks in Alexandria, Waterloo, Homebush and Castle Hill, and interior office refurbishments and fit outs.
